Grades are criterion referenced: 90–92.9% = A-, 93–96.9% = A, 97-100% = A+; 80–82.9% = B-, 83–86.9% = B, 87-90% = B+; 70–72.9% = C-, 73–76.9% = C, 77-80% = C+; 60–62.9% = D-, 63–66.9% = D, 67-70% = D+; <60 = E |

Exam #1 = 75 pts, Exam #2 = 100 pts. Format is multiple choice, true false, and problems. All material is cumulative. Exams are closed book (you can have a calculator and formula sheet). |

Six multiple-choice quizzes, 8 points each. Material will come from text and lecture. Quizzes start promptly at 10 min after the hour. You can drop the lowest grade and take a make-up quiz at semester’s end. |

Two assignments worth a cumulative 22% of your grade |

You do not need to do Extra Credit to be successful. However, experience shows those who do, earn higher grades. Extra Credit is graded as Pass/Fail. If you successfully pass all assignments your final grade will be increased by 5%. Extra Credit set #1 is due on the day of the mid-term exam, and set #2 the last day of class. Late turn-in is not permitted. |

Meetings |
Schedule 2 meetings with Professor Katch; one during January and one during March to discuss your progress. [2 pts total] |
There are no make-ups, no re-makes, and no exceptions unless agreed in advance. If you miss an assignment it will be considered “late” (maximum worth = half credit). If you miss an exam or quiz there are no make-ups. |
