Grading

Exams

  • Two (2) exams at 75 points each = 150 pts
  • If you must reschedule an exam at a special time, please see me at least 5 school days in advance.
  • If you miss an exam (for whatevery reason) without making arrangements in advance, there will be no make-up and you will receive a zero grade.

Workbook

  • Complete all chapters (chapter 12; crossword puzzels and practice quizzes not required) = 20 pts
  • If material is missing points will be deducted appropriately. In general, grading adheres to the following scale: 20 points = complete; 17 - 19 points = some (several entries on multiple pages) missing material; 13 - 16 points = several complete pages with no entries; 5 - 12 points = many empty pages; 0 - 4 pts = did not even try. Turning in a previously completed workbook is grounds for an E grade in the course.

Assignments

  • Four (4) assignments at 15 point each = 60 pts

Extra Credit

  • Extra credit points are added to your final grade. There is no penalty for not doing an extra credit assignment.
  • There are two extra credit options: (You can choose only one of the following)

(1) Total Body Make-over (up to 25 possible points)
(2) Biography (up to 15 possible points)

Extra, Extra Credit (If you do extra credit, you may also choose the extra, extra credit)

  • Exam questions - Write three (3) multiple choice questions with correct answer for each lecture. These must be complete and represent challenging questions. You must turn in questions for the first half of the course by February 16, and for the second half of the course by April 13.
  • Exam questions are worth a total of 8 extra credit points (for complete set for all lectures). If the questions are not of sufficient quality points will be deducted. Questions are to be submitted in two forms; typed copy and electonic (email with word attachement). Each question must have five (5) answer choices (one of them can be "None of the above".)
  • To earn extra credit points you must submit the questions on the due date.
