The following rules are established as guidelines for how individuals may create Shadow paths and link Shadows. There are a number of ways one may link Shadows or strengthen a pre-existing link so as to create a Shadow path:
An advanced Pattern initiate may use his or her powers to create a Shadow path between linked Shadows. He or she can only join separated Shadows, however, by making use of some kind of power battery, such as a Spikard or the Jewel of Judgment.
The Jewel of Judgment can be used to move Shadows and link them to other Shadows, though the individual using the Jewel must be very familiar with its workings.
Like the Jewel of Judgment, the Eye of Chaos can be used to move Shadows and link them to other Shadows.
Some specialized Shadow constructs may knit together adjacent Shadows and perhaps pull Shadows together so as to link them. It is possible to build a Shadow construct for this purpose, but the character building such a Shadow must have some knowledge of advanced sorcery and conjuration.
An advanced Logrus Master may use his or her Logrus Tendrils to pull Shadows to him or her, provided the Shadow isn't too far removed, and he or she may permanently link the Shadows and create Shadow paths between them.
Not too surprisingly, the Unicorn of Amber (Blethius) and the Spider of Chaos (Shaenan) seem to be able to link Shadows and knit together reality.
