          b. "The Jewel" stolen
          c. "Ygg" destroyed -- chasm separating Amber and Chaos
          d. Brand brings "the Jewel" back
          e. Must regrow "Ygg" to eliminate chasm

    II. After Dinner
      A. Trumped Fiona
        1. Asked after inspiration against Nimue -- None
        2. Psychic contact -- can now find her mind
      B. Trumped Bleys
        1. "Just testing." -- "Very dangerous." -- "OK."
        2. Psychic contact -- can now find his mind
      C. Contacted Angel
        1. Run on Eric's office to look for Pattern is a no-go
        2. Can't stop Nimue from throwing me on
      D. Before sleeping -- message to Flora -- futile guarding me
        1. Trumped to main hall from my room
        2. Got a snack
        3. Carried snack back to room past Flora's guard

    III. Next Day

      A. Asked Random about Conjuration -- suggests Ariana
      B. Received package via page in hall
        1. Open in my room -- a book "Powers that Be" [I think]
        2. Trumped Bartholomew -- Unicorn sigil on cover of book
          a. Wasn't his idea to send it
          b. Psychic contact -- can now find his mind
        3. Check book -- doesn't feel dangerous
        4. Opened book -- note from Brand inside
          a. A trap?
          b. Written by Unicorn priestess
          c. Benign looking Table of Contents
        5. "Fuck it!" began reading
          a. Read until about 10:00 p.m.
          b. Skipped lunch and dinner
      C. Went to town
        1. Looking for willing one-night stand to cheer me up
        2. No one about -- curfew
      D. Found Ariana in practice room with Ishmael -- fighting
        1. Very good
        2. Vixen brings in her kid -- she doesn't like me
        3. Tell Whimsy no sign of Nimue
      E. Go to sleep depressed -- no sign of Quin yet either

    IV. Another Day begins

      A. Read all morning
      B. Catch Ariana after lunch
        1. Agrees to teach me conjuration -- owe one favor
        2. Gives first lesson
      C. Deirdre's funeral -- died saving exiles
        1. More chatter from Nicholas -- took Logrus
        2. Whimsy notices Angel while scanning -- shit!
        3. Ariana follows suit as well
      D. Spoke with Ariana at funeral feast
        1. Told her a little about Angel
          a. Angel employs faerie magic and acts like a faerie
          b. Ariana doesn't trust her
        2. Learn Pattern is sentient
        3. Ronan's sedition becomes well known
          a. He suggests I'll go down with him if not careful
          b. Too late -- he can't tell more than I told Eric
