No. 1 in an occasional series on Cyco Touring Philosophy
Sometimes you wonder why some people are out
"camping" and what camping has come to. This isn't so much
directed at the ever increasing number of RV's since it would be absurd to
expect people to camp at the minimalist level that Joan and I do. Rather
it is exemplified by an RV we saw back in the mountains. It was a perfect
sunny afternoon of about 80* with a pleasant breeze blowing, a perfect afternoon
for sitting under a live oak and reading. Not for these RV'ers. They
never came out and the TV was blaring over the hum of the A/C. Why leave
your urban abode if that what you are going to do?
Is this camping? In the 21st century it
apparently is.
