SELECT HONORS AND AWARDS

College of Engineering Monroe-Brown Service Excellence Award, University of Michigan, 2010.

An annual award given by the College of Engineering of UM to a faculty member who has demonstrated significant service contribution at the College and/or University levels.


1st place, Workplay Competition.  University of Michigan, 2008.

This award was given for the best team proposal to promote innovation and collaboration across academic disciplines located on the North Campus of UM (Engineering, Music, Art, Architecture, and Urban Planning).  One of six collaborators.


Outstanding Young Alumnus/Alumna Award, Department of Civil, Architectural, and Environmental Engineering, University of Texas at Austin, 2005.

The Outstanding Young Alumnus/Alumna award recognizes a graduate of the Civil, Architectural and Environmental Engineering department of the University of Texas at Austin under the age of 40 who has distinguished him or herself with outstanding service and contributions to the engineering profession and community.


College of Engineering Vulcans Excellence in Teaching Award, University of Michigan, 2003.

An annual award given to a faculty member who has demonstrated sustained excellence in curricular development, instruction and guidance at both the undergraduate and graduate levels.


American Society of Civil Engineers Michigan Student Chapter - Professor of the Year, University of Michigan, 2000.

An award given for outstanding teaching by a faculty member within the Department of Civil & Environmental Engineering (composed of 28 faculty members).  The recipient is chosen by students who are members of the American Society of Civil Engineers.


Dept. of Civil & Environmental Engineering Faculty Award for Excellence in Teaching, University of Michigan, 1999.

An award given for outstanding teaching by a faculty member within the Department of Civil & Environmental Engineering (composed of 28 faculty members).  The recipient is chosen by the faculty of the department.


James M. Robbins Award for Excellence in Teaching (Great Lakes District of Chi Epsilon), 1998.

An annual award given for outstanding teaching by the Chi Epsilon, the Civil Engineering Honor Society.  Each university member of the Great Lakes District of Chi Epsilon (of which there are 14 members, including Notre Dame University, Michigan State University and Purdue University) can nominate one faculty member for this award.
