My name is Jeff Yackley and I am a Ph.D. Candidate in Computer Science at the University of Michigan – Dearborn. I am on the market for a tenure track assistant professorship starting in either the Spring or Fall Semester of 2022. As a member of the Intelligent Software Engineering Lab (ISE) and Dearborn Artificial Intelligence Research Center (DAIR) my research focuses on improving automated software refactoring through finding new sources of knowledge and techniques. In addition, I am also active in exploring new teaching paradigms for computer science and software engineering education. Depending on the semester, you can find me as the primary instructor of introductory computer science courses on C++ or as co-instructor of senior and master’s level 2D and 3D game design courses (Unity and Unreal Engine). Both my teaching and research are informed from experience in industry where I worked as a software developer at Compuware Corporation, Visteon Corporation, and the Software Engineering Institute at Carnegie Mellon University.
I have an open-door so please feel free to drop by my office, CIS 117, any time. Also, please explore the other pages of my website at your convenience to learn more about my research, upcoming conference presentations, and teaching.
