Immigration Links
- http://www.k1faq.com/ - An amazingly thorough list of questions and answers to help walk you through the whole K-1 process. It was invaluable and saved me tons of time because it helped me understand the whole process from start to finish.
- http://www.mindspring.com/~docsteen/visainfo/visainfo.htm - This site has even more detailed info, and is the second site you should visit, after reading the FAQ. There are also links on that site (and the FAQ site) to info about other marriage-based visas, for those going that route.
- alt.visa.us.marriage-based - The FAQ was created from questions and answers posted on the alt-marriagebased-visa newsgroup. This group is also great for getting the answer to specific questions - but for your sake, and their convenience, be sure to do a little reading first!
- http://www.ins.usdoj.gov/graphics/ - This is the official INS website, and there are lots of forms and instructions here. I found most of the forms on the docsteen and k1faq site, though, so I'd start there. The forms are "fillable" pdf format, and if you have the right version of Acrobat, you can even save them (thank god).
- http://www.immihelp.com/forms/immigration.html - This site has unbelievable forms that you can fill out - more than even the INS site! They are fillable and save-able if you have the right version of Acrobat. They also have Department of State that the consulate will send you - in fillable format. What a godsend!
- http://www.davehollis.com/k1/list.php4 - A good site for tracking how fast the INS service centers are processing applications, and you can put your information up to help others!
- http://www.kamya.com/interview/ - a site where others list their experiences, sorted by country, field office, etc.:
- Social Security number information: How to get a SS number if on a K-1 visa
- Information about Dual Citizenship: http://www.richw.org/dualcit/
