Madison, Wisconsin

The next day, we ditched the tourist town for some good ol’ American diner breakfast in Baraboo. I think Baraboo is where many of the locals actually live; we did not see too many houses in the Dells proper. Baraboo is also the place where the Ringling Bros. circus spent their winters. I am not sure why they didn't pick some place warm, like Florida. Maybe Barnum & Bailey had already taken it. In any case, it has a cute historical town square which includes the Al Ringling theatre. (I later found out that the Ringling Brothers were originally from Baraboo.)

Madison is that other Great Lakes college-town. Although I have only been here a few times, I have quite a few interesting memories. Geographically, it is not that far away from Michigan, but Lake Michigan makes the trip a long haul. Here is the Science Hall.

The large grassy quad has a considerable slope to it, it must make a great sledding hill in winter.

Insert joke about diploma/student mill here. Actually, this is probably just the steam plant.

Madison is also the capital, here is the capitol.

Underneath the rotunda.

I do not know why the Triangle Market is ''World Famous'' but I thought that I had better take a picture of it.

Head down to Chi-Town
