We started the day off right with Beignets.
Our first parades were the Thoth parade and the tail end of the Mid-City parade.
I was pleased to see Tulane’s fine tastes in transportation technology.
Dan getting settled in.
We had a respectable batch of beads from our first parades, which was pretty good considering how St. Charles Ave was lined by people with ladders and catchboxes.
Appreciating the local customs.
We walked around the Garden district between parades.
Nusrat at the French Consulate.
We hit the jackpot for beads at the Bacchus parade.
On Monday, we took a break and headed out of town to see plantations on the Mississippi river. Here are the gardens at Houma House.
Houma House has a three story spiral staircase that does not need any pole supports.
Heather and I in the gardens.
A bayou.
