Back through Canada

Heather was in our room of course, at the Governor’s Mansion Bed and Breakfast in Miramichi, NB. We stayed here to split up the long drive back to Quebec. The house was the official residence of the Lieutenant Governor of New Brunswick. Evidently, it was quite a historical place, and being built in 1860 would put it in the general timeframe of the Sherbrooke village restoration. The large windows look out on the wide Miramichi river and Beaubear's Island National Historic Park.

On the way to our final camping spot in the Laurentides region of Quebec, near Mount Tremblant.

There are many lakes among the rolling hills, it reminded us of the Adirondacks- just a couple hundred kilometers South-West-South and across the mighty St. Laurence river.

Once again, we saw a number of co-ops in Quebec. Here is a vehicle from a car cooperative, the member probably drove it from Montreal up to the park.

The squirrel that shared our campsite this time definitely had French-Candadian roots. We gave him a little breakfast and the first thing he ate was the croissant!

Another view from our campsite.

On our way back to Ann Arbor, we stopped by to visit Ummni and Brian in Toronto. We had a nice Indian dinner (for the first time in probably 3 weeks, a record for us!). Sorry about the out-of focus photo, but our camera was sitting a little too close to the Labatt’s.
