“Lobsters, lobsters, come and get ‘em!” Although we traveled through several areas where lobsters were the local specialty, at no point in time did Heather and I eat seafood. We did have a nice little breakfast here though, with a view of the bay.

We saw a pod of pilot whales, sometimes called “pothead” whales because of their prominent foreheads.

The northwest tip of Cape Breton is home to the only Tibetan Buddhist monestary in North America. The Rinpoche (head monk) liked the mountain-like area and moved the monestary from Colorado in the late 1970s. At first, the monks lived on seaweed, but they eventually accepted eating fish. Capt’n Mark said that lots of hippies used to hang out here back in the day.
