I am a theoretical physicist with interests in all sorts of things. My primary research subject is superstring theory, particularly its applications to black holes and to cosmology. In practice this involves a broad range of disciplines, including the general theory of relativity, quantum field theory, and particle physics.

I was born on the Faroe Islands but I moved to Denmark as a child, and stayed there until finishng my undergraduate degree. I then completed a Ph. D. in physics from Princeton University, and I was post doc at the University of Pennsylvania and at the University of Chicago's Enrico Fermi Institute. I am currently assistant professor at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor.

Here is a complete resume (including a hyperlinked list of publications).

"A ship in the harbor is safe, but that is not what ships are built for"
John A. Shedd

"I hate reality, but it is still the only place where I can get a decent steak"

Woody Allen
