April 26: The solutions to our final are posted. All the grades are now available on Canvas. Have a nice break!
April 19: I just uploaded a practice final. The solutions will be posted by tomorrow. Notice: This practice final does not include materials from chapter 4 (vector spaces) but ours WILL.
April 16: I just uploaded (1) List of topics we covered after midterm 2; and (2) Practice problems from Bretscher. Check them out!
April 11: I gave some hints in class today on the last problem of Homework 8. They are on page 1-3 in my notes for today (Lecture 22). Roonie also has nicely typed-up notes for Fibonacci sequence (I uploaded them, too). Check them out!
April 4: Midterm 2 scores are now available on Canvas. The solutions are posted on the course website. The highest score is 99/100. The median is 86 (getting B+). The B- cutoff is at 68, and the C- cutoff at 55. The higher midterm grade will be weighted higher in the final grades.
March 29: Homework 7 solutions are posted. There is no homework due next week.
March 24: I just posted some review problems for Midterm 2. Most of them are similar to homework problems, so I will not write up the complete set of solutions (but let me know if you have questions on them! ) Midterm 2 is next Thursday, and for that reason we (Ronnie and I) will, once again, hold adjusted office hours. Ronnie's OH next week will be: Monday 10 pm on zoom and Wed 6-7 pm in EH 1848. Mines will be Tuesday 2-4 pm (Robotics building) and Wed 5-6 pm in EH 1858.
March 21: I just posted a checklist for midterm 2 materials to help you get started on the review. Check it out! I will post some review problems by Friday.
March 17: I will be away next week and so the lectures will be covered by two sub-instructors. Ronnie will cover my office hours. {\color{blue} Ronnie's (temporary) office hours next week: Wednesday 6-8 pm in EH 1848; Thursday 10-11 pm on Zoom; and Friday 1-3 pm in EH 1848}.
Feb 21: Midterm I scores are now available on Canvas. The solutions are posted on the course website. The median is 79/100, receiving a B+.
Feb 16: Reminder: Midterm I is today 7-8:20 PM at CSRB 2246. The building is locked after 7, but you can swipe in with any valid M card.
Feb 11: Two things: (1). I just uploaded a sample exam for midterm 1. Note that this was for a 50 min class, so it will be slightly shorter than ours! I do like the problem in it! (2). In case some of you want more practices, I also chose some problems from Bretscher. I think I picked more than needed, so you definitely DON'T have to work on all of them. Just work on them as you need. We will discuss problems from these two files (and, of course, questions from YOU) on Tuesday.
Jan 27: Happy another snow day! Notes for yesterday's lecture are uploaded. In class, we also went over some common mistakes in Gauss-Jordan elimination. Check it out if you are still feel not so confident about this elimination method. Let's make it your best friend! The camera for the recording was not set up correctly yesterday so the recording failed. Sorry about that!
Jan 25: Happy snow day! The notes and video for yesterday's lecture are uploaded. Let me know if you have any questions! Homework 2 is due this friday and couple of problems in there could be a little bit hard interesting. So start early, and we will discuss some of them tomorrow in class if time allows.
Jan 10: The exam dates and times are now posted (on the left). Please do double check that you don't have time conflicts. If you do, please let me know as early as possible.
Jan 5: Hey, welcome to Math 419! The lecture notes for today and the first homework will be posted soon. The homework will not be due until 1/20.
