- Researched optofluidic Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (ELISA) laser using Fabry-Pérot (FP) optical cavity and achieved a dynamic range larger than 6 orders magnitude with sensitivity of 1 fg/mL (38 aM) of Human interleukin-6 (IL-6) which are much better performances than currently available any ELISA methods

- Built a high resolution (~1.5 cm-1) optical micro Raman spectroscopy system
- Developed nanoparticles immobilized single- and multi-hole SERS active capillaries and achieved the detection limits of 100 fM molar in liquid and sub-ppb in gas
- Developed SERS substrate for rapid and sensitive gas detection and achieved the detection limit of 0.4 attogram 2-4 dinitrotoluene (DNT) vapor in within 1 min exposure and 2 sec data acquisition

- Established Hyper-spectral Raman Imaging Spectroscopy system which can generate 2 nm band width Raman images with sub-micron spatial resolution for photonic crystal fiber (PCF) and planar substrate
- Investigated the effect of PCF geometry dependent SERS detection sensitivity and detected 100 pM R6G
- Developed a novel UV assisted synthesis for 20 nm to 120 nm size of Au nanoparticles
- Designed novel targeted drug delivery and enhanced PDT using gold nanoparticles and achieved 200% better than traditional PDT cancer treatment
- Explored Au nanoparticles size dependent PDT efficiency using breast cancer cell line as a model
