Benedict Lackhand: the great king of Avalon, who rules his land with an iron fist. Yes, that's just one iron fist; Benedict is missing one hand. Harrison: co-owner of Infernal Image, Inc; Cecily's older brother. An academic, he is the author of several famous papers on Beholders, thanks in large part to his sister's first-hand research. He is also a necromancer of some ability, and is being pursued by Kazor/Zamorna.

Ilie: the Eyrien cousin of Dragos, Ilie grew up to be the second-in-command of the Eyrien warlord. Adept with the bow, he has been sent with the party to keep an eye on the women, in case one of them is the prophesied mother of the Wind-Speaker.

Julius Hawksworn: Lord Ranger of New Arden.

Lachesis: a prophet, who lives alone in a distant forest; she seems to know all about a person just by looking at them. It has been revealed that she was once known as Fiona, a princess of Amber. After the Exile began, she lost much of her memory due to the curse. She is also the mother of Harrison and Cecily Greyfalcon, but does not remember them.

Llewella sar Lir: queen of Allemain. Llewella remembers more about her past than any of the Exiles the party has met so far. She has retained her abilities of shadow-shifting, and has sent her daughter with the party to help in finding Amber.

Rowan: Lady of the Silver Marches of the Darkling Realms; Korbin's daughter. She is the lord of Rose Court, and a great patron of the arts, and patron of Griffin.

Salome: Deirdre's daughter and Salome's mother. She was an agent for Kazor/Zamorna for many years, believing his lies that the Exiles were responsible for her mother's death. Later, she fell into company with Bleys, who told her a different version of things. When Kazor threatened her son in order to keep her in line, she decided to work against him, and began by leading Fletcher to Shen.

Lady Feldane: Gerda and Matthias' mother and the leader of the Council of Nobles in Amber. She had her husband declared dead and took over the leadership of the noble houses of Amber. In a purely political move, she seduced Gerard and bore a son by him; this did not endear her to anyone in particular, and Gerard simply took the child from her to raise as his own.

Gérard: father of Matthias, and the only elder Amberite to have remained in Amber and retained his memory.
