Hi guys, it's been an extremely long time since I've blogged (since going back to Taiwan after graduating high school), but I'm really excited to start again! I'm pretty sure I'll be able to update every day, as this trip will be about two weeks long rather than a couple months. This trip's destination includes both Taiwan and Japan, specifically Kaohsiung and Kyoto, and I will be traveling with my Mom and Grandma. It's been a little odd, because I was unaware that we would be going to Japan until finals week, and I finally found out that we would be exploring Kyoto on Friday! Anyway, I've been packing since I got back home from school; it's always been a slow process for me because I worry about the weather, especially this time...

Dat Taiwan weather.
I really hope that Kaohsiung's reputation for generally having good weather holds true, despite the forecast. In addition, Kyoto's weather is going to be about ten degrees lower on average, but I'll probably still be able to wear the same stuff?
Finally, now that I have my own camera, expect to see lots of photos because I'm going to be practicing as much as I can! Along with my Nikon D7000, I'll be bringing an 18-105mm VR and a 50mm prime lens. Hopefully, this lens range will cover most of the subjects that may come up while staying lightweight. I kinda wish I had a prime lens that wasn't telephoto however, such as 35mm, because this means that it'll be a little more difficult to get everything within the frame. With a 35mm, I can just walk closer to the subject if needed. Oh well, I'm still super excited. :)
Until next time!
