This is the list of officer positions for the school year 1998-1999. We will probably be having elections for the school year 1999-2000 in April, 1999. If you are interested in this club, please email me to tell me how you would like to contribute. Please don't hesitate to check the "others" box and write comments at the end. You can check more than one. President (1 position, currently taken by Jermaine Stephens ) main contact person, coordinate all other officers, conduct meetings, MSA registration, etc. Vice-president (1 position, currently taken by Debra Kay ) do whatever the president says. Usually miscellaneous things such as responding to outside messages, writing thank-you notes, etc. Secretary (1 position, Nancy Joseph) take minutes at meetings, send out the minutes thru email, maintain email lists. Treasurer (1 position, Diana Wu) work with MSA on funding, generate ideas, organize fundraisers, manage all finances (collecting receipts, writing checks, etc.) If the treasurer has time, we could try selling doughnuts in the fishbowl. It makes about $100 a day. Logistics Chairs (2 positions, Avishek Banerjee, Ed Moon) contact Red Cross, help nurses with whatever they need, find a room, set up/clean up the room, putting up/taking down signs, and whatever else needs to get done. Webmaster (1 position, Jeff Huo) keep the webpage updated with new events Design person(s) (2 positions, Hae-Won Kim, Tae-Hee Hwang) design flyers, posters, leaflets, banners, etc., copy then and distribute them to the right person. Community Contact (2 positions, Suma Amarnath, Deepak D'souza) post stuff on the newspapers, get radio stations to broadcast clips, keep in touch with other local marrow groups, establish and maintain amicable relations with outside groups, etc. Historian (1 position, Desiree Thayer) keep track of important club info, including email, flyers, events, pictures, etc. be able to recall or have records of past events for future reference. Volunteer Chair (1 position, Christine Nguyen) keep a list of volunteers at the drives, solicit for volunteers at drives (making phone calls if necessary), coordinate the schedule to ensure enough volunteers are working at all times during the drive, train the volunteers, answer any questions from or concerning the volunteers. Dorm Contact (multiple positions) go to hall/floor/house meetings to make announcements for drives or for general education, post up flyers in their respective dorms, and put up table tents on cafeteria tables. Plus, dorm contacts will have to keep brochures, question & answer sheets, and up-to-date info about the club (upcoming drives, meetings, or special events) on their dorm room doors. Ideally, the contacts will know enough about bone marrow transplantation to answer questions about it. Some dorms include South Quad, West Quad, Barbour/Newberry, Martha Cook, East Quad, Stockwell, Lloyd, Couzens, Mojo, Markley, Bursley, Oxford, Fletcher, and Baits. We may also try U Towers and other popular apartments for students. Martha Cook: Linda Chu Stockwell: Hanh Tran Ethnic Group Contact (5 positions) This person would keep track of what's going on in their community and report this info back to us. That way, if there is a large conference coming to Ann Arbor, we could set up a drive at the conference. Or if there is a cultural performance, we could make an announcement there. Plus, this person should find out when mass meetings or regular meetings are so we can make announcements. This person would also be responsible for forwarding drive information to as many clubs as possible in his/her respective ethnicity. 1. African American Contact Sabrina Charles, Jason Johnson 2.
