Possible Recommendations for Consideration at the January 2011 PISC Meeting
While many ideas about sustainability surfaced in this evaluation process as reflected in the Executive Summary, as a starting point for discussion at the PISC Meeting in January 2011, the following recommendations are being suggested for initial consideration by the Committee as it relates to helping to sustain the EBPs:
- Establish common outcome measures for EBPs at the state level.
- Implement mechanisms to allow adaptations of the EBPs in order to better meet the needs of consumers and local regions. Any adaptations should be monitored to ensure that the EBP outcomes continue to be achieved.
- Develop state funding mechanisms to support PIHPs in selecting new EBPs to implement based on local needs.
- Examine current certification processes for EBPs (organizational level or individual worker level) as well as ways to support supervisors in getting needed certifications to supervise staff using a range of EBPs.
- Increase the frequency of initial and ongoing training in the different EBPs to address staff turnover. Use technology when possible to incorporate distance learning options and other forms of training at regional levels.
