As this is usually done, this is part of an elimination game: Two children face each other, bringing their raised hands together to form an arch. During the song, the other children walk in a circle under the arch. With the "Here comes a candle", the "arch" begins to collapse. At the end of the song, the two children forming the arch chant "chop, chop, chop" and bring their joined hands down. The child caught under the arch is out of the game, or one of the two arches for the next round, or whatever.
