Barium fluorobromoiodide (doped with europium) is the phosphor used in the
V-type Fuji CR imaging plates. The ratio of Br/I is reported to be 0.85/
0.15 [1 1 0.85 0.15] (from H. Kato, Photostimulable Phosphor Radiography Design
Considerations in Specification, Acceptance Testing and Quality Control of
Diagnostic X-ray Imaging Equipment edited by Seibert et al, AAPM/AIP, 1994).
The thickness of ST-V is 230 um [200 for ST-IIIN] (Ogawa et al. SPIE 2432,
421-431). the coating weight is recorded 98 mg/cm^2 [49 for HR] (Barnes, AAPM
1993 Summer School Proceedings). The grain size is 4 u for ST-V and 5 u for
ST-IIIN (Stteler et al. SPIE 2432, 578-587). The density of the BaFBr is
recorded 5.18 g/cm^3 (Hosoi et al. SPIE 1651, 236-245, 1992) and 4.96
in Ferretti, U.S. Patent No. 5,378,397, 1995.
