Aluminum is generally sold as an alloy to make it stiffer. An alloy
commonly used in radiography is type 1100 because of the high Al concentration.
However, the metalurgical standards allow broad variation in the 1 percent
high Z compounds that can be included. This has been a recognized problem
in radiogic measurements.
This composition is loosely modeled on the composition described by
Wagner (Med. Phys. 17-6, Nov/Dec 1990, pg 989). The .12 percent copper is
from a metal catalog.
