Are you the next Simon Cowell?
University Unions Arts & ProgramsÕ OPEN MIC NIGHTS is looking for qualified judges to help select acts for the Best of the Best Show. Make $25 just for listening to music and filling out a form! Two judges are needed for each Open Mic, so donÕt be shy! E-mail dasarber@umich.edu with your musical experience and qualifications. (As a judge, you forfeit your opportunity to perform and qualify for the Best of the Best Show.)
Open Mic Nights are sponsored by University Unions Arts and Programs and SMN. Musicians of all
genres and spoken word artists are welcome to perform 2 songs or a max of 10 minutes on
stage. All events are free, open to the public, and free food and drinks are provided.
Open Mic Nights are not competitions, but there are judges in the audience who select the
top performers of the evening. The winners are not announced until the last Open Mic
Night of the semester which is the Best of the Best Show where the top rated performers
play by invitation only. They have 15 minutes on stage and win $40 and an Open Mic Night
t-shirt.
