With joint effort of 29 Steering Committe members from various Nanjing Medical University (NMU) academic departments (schools), with support of all the NMU Overseas alumni around the world, and within a four-week period, the Steering Committee is very honored and with great joy to announce that the NMU Overseas Alumni Association (ONMUAA) was born to this 18th Day of August, the nineteen hundred and ninety six years. Based on the representative selection, 29 Steering Committee Members unanimously joined to form the ONMUAA Governing Board; Based on the nomination and voting from the alumni pool, and approval by the Governing Board, 3 Board Chairs were elected with one Chair, and two Co-Chairs, to lead the Board in its task of overseeing ONMUAA's administration; Based on the same process, one President and two Vice Presidents were elected to lead the Executive Committee which manages the daily affairs of ONMUAA; Based on same process, two Secretories were also elected each for the Board and the Committee. The Board Chair also will present to the Board for approval a plan for his management and coordination of the Board activities. It is our sincere hope that the newly born ONMUAA will grow healthy in this world with her sisters and brothers, be abled to serve our alumni whole-heartedly, and reward her mother university, the Nanjing Medical University Campus. As an organized and independent alumni group, we Overseas NMU alumni (now the members) are greatly proud of our ONMUAA, sincerely cherish her, and jointly protect her for her successful life and career! It is also announced that the Steering Committee expires today and the Executive Committee takes over all the administration of ONMUAA and alumni affairs from this moment under the supervision of the Governing Board. Each alumnus(a) of NMU is now automatically the regular member of ONMUAA. You are always encouraged to contact the Committee Presidents and Members directly for your suggestion, advice, concern, request or offer of help.
