Nursery / Playroom
- Description of This Room
A tiny room, but that's fine since it is for the baby. To make it seem
more visually interesting, the room has a horizontal line of dark blue molding
which divides the blue sky colored ceiling and upper wall. These are decorated
with a simple mural of a large golden sun in one corner or the room, a few clouds,
and a large crescent moon with a few stars in the other corner. Below the molding,
the room is painted with a plain white high gloss latex paint, for ease of
cleaning.
- Special Features &/or Details
Since it is a small room, it is loaded with space saving gimics to make the
most of the space. For example, instead of a separate changing table, we use a
"Rail Rider", a shelf can hang down from the back side of the crib, and is
supported by the lowered bars on the parent's side of the crib. When not in use,
it hangs flat against the side of the crib at either the headboard or footboard.
Changing supplies are kept in a small tub which also hangs from either end of the
crib, at least until the child is old enough to stand up and reach them.
- Main Contents of the Room
- Bookcase (Kiddie Lit)
- Chest of Drawers (Actually, a mini-wardrobe).

- Rocking Chair
- Toy Chest
- Wastebasket
- Tips
When feeding a baby who is just learning to sit up, put one of those jar
grippers on the high chair seat so their bottom doesn't slip. Jar grippers are for
getting a good grip on the lids of recalcitrant jars that don't want to
open. These can be purchased at most grocery and hardware stores.
