








GETTING HEBREW FONTS FOR YOUR PC (extracted and edited from
http://www1.snunit.k12.il/heb_pc.html)
- Your PC doesn't have Hebrew fonts or they are not known to
your windows fonts controller.
If you don't have Hebrew fonts, you can get elrofont.exe,
and webfont.exe.
- Now that you have the fonts on your PC save them in a directory
you know where they are [like FONTS, HEBFONT etc][most people
put them in c:\windows\system directory] and then run the .exe
files (by double clicking on them in the file manager).
- Install the fonts in your Windows Fonts-Manager:
(Windows 3.1 Instructions)
- choose the "MAIN" group in it look for "Control
Panel" and choose it.
- in the "Control Panel" choose "Fonts".
- now press the "add" button -> you will get a
window on the bottom it will show you your directories go to the
directory where your font are saved [the directory from stage
2].
- choose the following fonts:
- ElroNet Monospace (True Type)
- ElroNet Proportional (True Type)
- Web Hebrew AD (True Type)
- Web Hebrew Monospace (True Type)
(Windows 96 Instructions)
- Press the Start button (bottom left of screen). Select
"Settings" and from there select "Control Panel".
Double click on the "Fonts" folder.
- Pull down "File", select "Install New Font".
Navigate the folders and open the folder where the fonts you have
downloaded and uncompressed are. Select the following fonts:
- ElroNet Monospace (True Type)
- ElroNet Proportional (True Type)
- Web Hebrew AD (True Type)
- Web Hebrew Monospace (True Type)
Windows 3.1 and Windows 95 Instructions:
- [if you have a problem choosing more than one at a time press
the "shift" button when you press your mouse button].
- press the "OK" button, now the fonts are saved in
your windows system.
- close the "Fonts" window and the "Control Panel"
window. [by the mouse or the Alt-F4 button].
Now you have Hebrew fonts on your windows!
Next stage is to get Hebrew Fonts on your Netscape.
- open Netscape, choose pull down "Options," select
"General Preferences."
- in the window you'll have a set of nested folders. Choose
"Fonts".
- by the: "Use the Proportional Font" you have a "Choose
font" button, press it. A window will open, in it choose
the "ElroNet Proportional Euro" font or the "Web
Hebrew AD Euro" font, and press "OK".
- by the: "Use the Fixed Font" you have a "Choose
font" button press it. A window will open, in it choose the
"ElroNet Monospace Euro" font or the "Web Hebrew
Monospace Euro" font, and press "OK".
- Now you are will be able to see Hebrew on your Netscape browser
when the source document demands it..
