Dariela starts off her day with a 30-minute walk to school, where she meets up with her friends Oserir and Daniel and particularly enjoys studying mathematics and drawing. She hopes to become a teacher when she grows up. When she has free time, she loves to play music and tell stories with her family.

One of the major problems for her whole community is a poor hygiene and sanitation. Her house, which consists of cement and a small corrugated metal roof, does not have its own bathroom, so she has to use the public latrine. Also, the water supply may not be adequately treated at times and may not always be safe to drink.
