Prosonno lives with his mom, Sumitra, father, Narayon, brothers, Profullo and Promeshor, and sister Suchitra.  His parents and oldest brother currently work as laborers.  The family speaks Bangla.

Prosonno enjoys football (soccer), watching TV, and playing local games.  He would like to be a teacher when he grows up.  He starts the day by heading for school by foot on a half-hour journey to meet his friends, Krishno and Sadhin, and to learn his favorite subject, the local language.

Prosonno’s community suffers from lack of access to clean safe drinking water all year round, which leads to water-borne diseases.  Due to lack of awareness, poor maternal health and treatment facilities of health care of pregnant mothers has led to the Maternal Health Care project.  Also, a computer system was established to address the problem of many children being born without birth certificates, which has led to early marriage, problems in child labor, and school enrollment issues.
