Bullet  Center for Russian and East European Studies (CREES) is one of the nation's foremost institutions for interdisciplinary research and training  on Russia, Central and Eastern Europe, Central Asia and the Caucasus; our website includes descriptions of the Center, degree programs, special events and lectures along with lists of courses and faculty, and the Center's calendar of events. 

BulletThe Slavic and East European Division of the Harlan Hatcher Graduate Library  maintains one of the nation's outstanding collections of materials in all formats from and about Central and Eastern Europe and the former Soviet Union.  The best-represented languages are Russian, Serbo-Croatian, Polish, Czech and Slovak.

Moscow City - Beginning with basic information about the city itself and ways to get around, this page offers more Russian language links on Moscow including art, culture, and people. This is a an especially useful source of information if you are planning to visit the city. 

St. Petersburg - This page contains similar information about the "second capital" of Russia - St. Petersburg. Travellers can learn about the city, it's people, art, and culture on this page. 

Russian Foodways - Food is a fundamental part of any culture. In our new reading course "Russian Foodways" students learn about practices and rituals of food preparation and consumption in Russia, explore the semiotics of the Russian table in literature, folklore, film, and journalism, and look at contemporary attitudes to food and eating. This page provides useful links to food sites, from collections of recipes to traditions of serving food in Russian restaurants.
