Mission Statement

Children are the future leaders of our communities - Biinoogiiyuk Guh Niigaanziiwaad. In a safe way, guide Biinoogiiyuk back to the natural leaders they are by mending the emotional, mental, physical and spiritual aspects of their lives. In turn, children, youth and their families regain and maintain a healthy balance in life, Mino-Biimaadizwin.


The Biinoogiiyuk Guh Niigaanziiwaad Program (BGN) works with children and youth (0-18) who have severe emotional disturbances, which is def ined as:

Unable to maintain balance that enables a person to f unction within community, context, mind, body and spirit. Without intervention, this state of imbalance will continue for more than one (1) year. (COC Project, ITC of Michigan. Adopted by the B&N Program)

BGN coordinates services for children and youth with components which include youth outreach weekly in the public schools and referrals to appropriate services.
