Grand Traverse Lighthouse Registered National and State Historic Site Northport, Michigan P.O.  Box 43  49670 Located at the tip of the Leelanau Peninsula in the Leelanau State Park Located 9 miles north of Northport.  State park entry fee is required for entry. The Grand Traverse Lighthouse is operated by the Grand Traverse Lighthouse Foundation, a non-profit organization.  There is a $1 fee for entrance into the museum. Directions: Take M-201 through Northport.  County Road 640 begins where M-201 ends.  Take CR-640 to the blue historic sign, where CR-629 begins.  Take CR-629 to its end, which is the entrance to the Leelanau State Park.
