Pierce Stocking Scenic Drive and Welch road

Pierce Stocking scenic drive is a fantastic hill climbing loop for serious cyclists. It features two of the steepest ascends in the county. There is a wide bike lane along the entire loop drive for riding safety. You will pass through a small stand of pine trees and then head into a hard wood forest as you climb the first set of hills. From there you ride by the main dune of the Sleeping Bear National Lake Shore and then descend back into the hard woods to tackle two truly steep climbs. Welch road is a quick way to cut from LCR 616 to M109, check it out by going back to the previous page on this web site.
