Oakwood Cemetery - Saline
Oakwood Cemetery is one of the oldest in Washtenaw County. The burying ground was established on land owned by Orange Risdon, founder of Saline and surveyor of the Chicago Road (US 12) which runs through Saline. His obelisk styled monument stands at the top of the oak crowned hill. Although no records exist from that time period, the cemetery pre-dates the platting of Saline Village in 1832. The oldest marker is that of David Dell who died on June 23, 1825.
