Description: Management of deep carious lesions by general dentists is usually based on radiographical interpretation and patient symptoms. However, in community clinic practices the patient’s economic burden becomes the deciding factor between endodontic treatment, restorative treatment or extraction of a tooth. Is partial caries removal a feasible option?
Learning Objectives:
Participants will become knowledgeable in treatment options for deep carious lesions.
Participants will become proficient in diagnosis and identification of non-endodontically restorable deep carious lesions.
Participants will be able to predict possible outcomes of treatment of deep carious lesions.
