I am an Assistant Professor in Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine at the University of Michigan.

My research focuses on mechanisms of brain injury after critical illness, using donated human brain specimens and animal models of sepsis and pneumonia.  I am interested in the processes that lead from systemic infection to neuroinflammation and then to neuronal damage.

In addition to caring for patients in the hospital, I also see patients once in a week in the adult assisted ventilation clinic.
