Born and raised in Grand Rapids, Michigan, I've had the privilege of exploring my creative passions. This led me to pursue the Stamps School of Art and Design at the University of Michigan. My experience ranges from realistic drawing to layout design to portraiture to documentary photography. I am a detail-oriented perfectionist, so I welcome and appreciate pickiness. Below are some prints that caused me to fall in love with printmaking. Each represent very special memories of mine and my loved ones.
Althugh these prints didn't exactly turn out how I wanted, the effort was there. I spent almost 25 hours carving on a piece of 18"x24" linoleum with the tiniest cutter. Note to self: next time, dig deeper!
In my Print Publications course, one of the first projects was to design a postage stamp. I chose to create four stamps based on my experiences at Lake Michigan Recreation Area, a campground that I often visited while growing up. Later in the semester, we were instructed to write a 60 page book explaining our design process for these stamps. The last step was to print and hand bind the booklet. This was a long and grueling process because the University was closed after Thanksgiving break; I had to use one of my friend's printers instead of the nice ones provided by Stamps. Below is the result.
The last project in Print Publications was a collaborative drum-leaf booklet. Each student created a spread that would be shared with the rest of the class. These spreads were to be printed and bound into a drum-leaf booklet, with a cover design of our choice. We came up with the title "Letters From Home," so each student could write about their experience during quarantine. The project was to bind two of these booklets; one with the dimensions of 5"x5", and the other a size of our choice. My second was 3"x3".
When I was about 15 years old, my mom came home with these tiny canvases (about 3"x3"). I decided to paint a photo she took of Pictured Rocks that summer. Soon, the demand for my tiny paintings rapidly increased, so I made more over the years and sold them to friends and family.
After collaborating with a student from the University of Michigan, I created the cover art for a song that he and his friend planned to release.
Each of these were done at different times with different mediums. Enjoy looking at my face.
I had the unique pleasure of taking Documentary Photography during the Fall of 2020, which resulted in something I am extremely proud of. As you can imagine, there wasn't much to document. For the entire semester, I was instructed to create a diary of photographs consisting of the people who remained in my "bubble." By the end, I turned in 100 photographs; below are some of my favorites.
Next, I enrolled in Advanced Documentary Photography where we continued this same Covid Diary. It is this project that helped me realize my undying love for photography and my dreams to pursue it as a career. Stay tuned.

During March of 2019, my family took a trip to New York City. It was my first time visiting, so I had a blast capturing the city's beauty.
Growing up, my family visited Destin, Florida for spring break. Here is a collection of photos from these various trips.
During the summer of 2018, I had the privilege of visiting Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore. I dream of the day I'll get to return.
This was for Introduction to Photography. We were prompted to highlight or emphasize a problem. I chose the overwhelming amount of single use plastic humans consume and tried to juxtapose it with its solution.
I held a graphic design internship the summer after my first year of college. One of my coworkers referred me to a real estate agent. She was moving to a different neighborhood and wanted me to design mailers to send to her new neighbors.
A few professional designs I created for organizations. The first two were t-shirt designs for Michigan Political Consulting, and the third was a logo for Discovery Coaching Services.
During the summer of 2019, I was hired as a Graphic Design Intern for Brooke Krebill's team at Keller William's Realty. They were going through a rebranding phase, so they needed me to create new design content for all of their marketing tools. This included flyers, listing and selling guides, postcards, business cards, facebook posts, and many other miscellaneous design needs. I also created video content and held photography sessions for the team.
In a Typography course, we were to choose a professional designer and create content for a fictional event using their style. I chose book cover designer Chip Kidd. Kidd grew up infatuated with DC Comics, which continues to inspire much of his design work. Therefore, I created a Comic Con centered around his work.
