About Us
Theta Delta Chi is an organization dedicated to the improvement of the intellectual, moral, and social being of men through friendship. The Alpha charge of Theta Delta Chi was originally founded in 1847 at Union College in New York. Amidst a period of westward expansion, the Gamma Deuteron Charge was later founded at the University of Michigan on December 13, 1889. After over 100 years as an active charge, Gamma Deuteron was forced to disband due to adverse circumstances.
After being dormant for 13 years, we have been able to restore Gamma Deuteron as an active presence on campus. To our founding fathers, the idea of starting our own campus fraternity and building it from the ground up was intriguing and very exciting. What began as a hypothetical idea to create a campus fraternity soon became a reality. After several months of collaboration by our re-founding fathers, we were granted colony status by Theta Delta Chi’s Central Fraternity Office in December of 2007 and officially re-chartered in March of 2009.
As an organization, we offer our members ample opportunities for leadership, academic support, philanthropy, social events, career networking, and personal growth through the bonds of brotherhood. We pride ourselves on being a dynamic group of individuals intent on bettering ourselves and the campus community. We are continually looking for men of high character and integrity who share a passion for our ideals, and will be able to positively contribute to our brotherhood.
This fall of 2015 we are looking forward to continuing our legacy on campus at our beautiful house at 700 South State Street. |
