Tulga Ersal received the B.S.E. degree from the Istanbul Technical University, Istanbul, Turkey, in 2001, and the M.S. and Ph.D. degrees from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, MI USA, in 2003 and 2007, respectively, all in mechanical engineering. He is currently an Associate Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, MI USA.
Curriculum VitaeDr. Ersal's research is in the field of system dynamics and control. He is interested in mathematical modeling and simulation of dynamic systems, as well as their estimation and control. The applications of his work span vehicle systems (e.g., autonomous vehicles, semi-autonomous vehicles, vehicle dynamics, powertrain management), energy systems (e.g., batteries, vehicle powertrains, microgrids, fuel cells), and humans (e.g., driver distraction, human balance, cognitive modeling).
