Your last assignment is to write up a full and final description of your research project. This report should be 10-15 pages in length, typed, double-spaced, in 12 point Times font and 1 inch margins on all sides.
Your report should follow APA format and should therefore include the following: Title Page, Abstract, Introduction, Methods, Results, Discussion, References, Endnotes/Author Notes, and Tables/Figures. In addition to this overall structure, the detailed formatting of your report should be in APA format (headings/subheadings, running title, citations and references, etc.) For more guidance on APA format, see the chapter on writing a research report that was made available for xeroxing at Excel Test Preparation.
Some of this report can be taken from your previous assignments (revised as you see fit). For example, by the time you write this report you will have written an abstract, a background and significance section (similar to an Introduction), a methods section, and a references section. Of course, you may want to revise these sections in light of the results that you obtained. The results and discussion sections will be definitely be new:
a. Results: A description of the data gathered during the semester. In some cases there will be sufficient data to use summary statistics, and perhaps inferential statistics to determine the significance of the results. In other cases, a summary of preliminary or partial results will be all that is available and can be labeled as such.
b. Discussion: An analysis of your results. If your results are inconclusive or still in progress, you should analyze what the possible results are and what they might mean.
