Insects
The insect is a symbol of greed
and sensual pleasure. In fairy tales, insects often symbolize precision: they
are called upon to do impossible tasks. The can also be plauge and destruction,
like the locust swarms that decended on Egypt in the biblical story of Daniel.
Represent short, feeble life. Sometimes connected with semen and conception, as
it was often thought that the accidental swallowing of the one would cause the
other.
