In October 2018 I went to an exhibition on Mary Shelley and
Frankenstein at the Morgan Library in New York. The exhibition
included a print by William Blake and illustrations he did for works of
Mary Wollstonecraft. Here are the pictures I took of them:
Frontispiece to Blake's Europe, A Prophecy, showing the white-bearded Urizen, and known as "The Ancient of Days." This was done in 1794, the same year Mireille meets Blake in The Eight.
Text about the print:
Blake's illustrations for works of Mary Wollstonecraft. These were done in 1796. By the way, Wollstonecraft dedicated A Vindication of the Rights of Woman to Talleyrand.
