In order to fully understand the effects of an electric field on the deposition of charged particles on a uniform surface, a study was performed observing the effects of the following changes. Note: All charged particle magnitudes and size will be kept constant throughout the study.

The model was subjected to four different initial conditions/surfaces, two different types of boundary conditions, and 2 different magnitudes of electric field, and the effects of the deposition with and without inter-particle effects.

Four Initial Surface Conditions:

In each of these models, the end points with either be free to translate in both the X and Y directions, or constrain in the X and Y directions (2 different b.c.’s).

In each of these models, the magnitude of the electric fields will be modified (2 different electric field magnitudes). For the first part, the magnitude will be scaled to 1 unit magnitude. For the second part of the experiment, the magnitude of the electric field will be changed to two times the magnitude.
