SANTA BARBARA, CA- The Michigan Wolverines got off to an early scoring frenzy against the UCLA Bruins Friday afternoon taking a 7-0 lead before UCLA’s responded with their first goal. The Wolverine defense was strong all game forcing turnovers that led to goals and kept the ball out of Michigan territory. To go along with the defensive performance was a great offensive showing allowing the Wolverines to take a 10-3 lead into halftime.
Although the Wolverines did not match their 10 goal total of the first half; they managed to net 7 more while keeping the Bruins at only 3 goals again in the second half. The Bruins tried to claw their way back into the game but were fought off by a tough and impressive effort by the Wolverines.
Michigan will look to continue their success as they carry their momentum through their three remaining games of the Santa Barbara Shootout Tournament.
