ASK friends and neighbors to sign a citizen petition for clemency for battered women prisoners.
CALL local newspapers, radio or TV stations, and ask if the News Editor is going to the prison to interview or write a story on any of the women, especially those from the local county.
WRITE or CALL local judges to let them know they need to support women prisoners wrongly convicted who killed abusers in self-defense.
WRITE or CALL prosecutors or parole board members, especially if you know any.
WRITE articles or op ed pieces or letters to the editor in support of clemency or women prisoners.
CALL newspapers, tv and radio stations to keep public pressure on the Governor and Parole Board and let them know there is public support for these women.
SPEAK UP by calling a radio station during call-ins. Make a TV program for Public Access TV on the Clemency Project or issues affecting the human and civil rights of women prisoners.
RECRUIT a reporter to write an article on these women, or on a particular woman's case.
ADVOCATE for these wrongly convicted women prisoners by showing a film for your friends, colleagues, organization, community group, classroom ("From One Prison...", "Clemency", etc.)
ORGANIZE a workshop, panel discussion, or film screening with Coordinators of the Michigan Women’s Justice & Clemency Project
RESEARCH and PUBLISH on the issue of women's criminalization, from prostitutes' rights to prisoners' human and civil rights. Much news and scholarship and publishing is needed!
RECRUIT friends, colleagues, attorneys to help on these cases or this issue.
