My department gives us t-shirts at the beginning of every school year to help foster good will or some crap like that. Anyways, the one I got is probably big enough to use as a bedsheet, and it's white instead of maize. Maybe a few hours in the dryer will help. For the size, anyways.

Now the blank space problems should be fixed. Thanks Phil!

I went to the dentist today for the first time in over ten years, and it was a BLOODBATH!

Well... yeah, there was a goodly amount of blood during the "scaling" (which is when they take the picks and carve the tartar and plaque out from under your gums) but to be honest, there wasn't a lot of pain.* As I figured, I have a bunch of small cavities, so I'll be a frequent visitor to my dentist (whose office I passed by a billion times when I worked for the Hospital since it's right next to UM MedSport out at Domino's Farms) over the next couple of months.

(* -- The real pain happened when I realized how crappy the U's dental insurance is. So much for saving money for the house fund for the next couple of months...)

I can't get enough of those Enraged-Monkey-going-through-Withdrawl stories.

What's with all the blank space above? Hmm....

    dwinn vs. JoyLuckShop

So weeks before her birthday I ordered Julie some Lavendar Jade charms through this Yahoo Merchant called "JoyLuckShop". I guess I should have known better since they advertised these pieces as being "normally 350 bucks, but yours for 19.99", but what the hell. Anyways, I place the order, time goes by, the order doesn't show. I mail these people every other day, just wanting to know what was up with the order -- no response. Their order-tracker on the web site was broken, as well.

I reach the end of my patience and call the office, where a gentleman with a limited english vocabulary apologizes profusely for the delay, letting me know it was mailed just days before -- and it showed up yesterday.

    So what do I do?

Give them a rating of "awful" on the Yahoo Merchant feedback. Wah-WAH!

(R)Ice Cube -- I guess I can understand now why the French are afraid of losing their culture when I see stuff like this.

    Celery + Gravity -- I don't get this.

Hmm, another Tom Tomorrow. Hopefully it'll run twice a week now.

Now that I've got a chance, I can recap last weekend:

Saturday morning Julie and I got up at some godawful hour to drive out to Bay City, where, in the afternoon, we would attend a reception/reunion for Julie's family members and such who did not get down to the wedding. I knew a few of the people there previously, so this was not horrible, and people were very generous in their gifts to us.

Then, later that evening, we went to Julie's high school reunion, which was at the airport near Bay City. I didn't know anyone here, and there were not any presents, so this was not as cool.

After crashing at Julie's mom's house, we drove back to Ann Arbor, switched cars, and then drove out to my folks' house for our family birthday(s). My folks got us a nice gas barbeque.

Anyways, after all that nonsense, we were wiped, and the last couple days have been spent getting over the malaise. We did Julie's birthday monday, with gifts, The Earle, and Clown Train Birthday Cake.

Happy Birthday to Julie! Politeness keeps me froming saying how old she is today; however, here's a picture I took from when she blew out the candles on the birthday cake.

Heed this warning: The pathway to enlightenment is strewn with obstacles for those without Quicktime 4.

Man, I used a lot of exclamation marks in that last post.

Birthday yesterday was good. I have to give props to everyone who came over this weekend for birthday fun, to start. Thanks to Mer, Jill, and Larke for e-greetings of various types (and Larke for the book); Allen and Dann for supporting my gaming habit; Chris and Tracy for treating us so well yesterday; and of course the lovely Jules for everything.

Too bad Alan Kalter couldn't show up.
