    August Assclown of the Month!

    Baseball Greetings, Ernie Harwell

    Sleep -- that's where I'm a viking!

They're replacing the aluminum siding on our townhouse. This is a good concept spoiled by the fact that they start doing it at 7:45 AM.
Thus, I have been incredibly tired for the last three days.

However, this is also generating more of those Sexy Actress dreams.

    So I guess it's a wash.

This one is for the Julie

In the Strange Department, my exercise bike broke down yesterday with no real chance for resurrection. The autopsy shows what looked to be a stress fracture developing along the pylon that leads to the right pedal, and given enough time and mileage it finally sheared completely through.

A new one will be pricey, but a recumbent bike, like this one, will probably work out better than the old upright.

    Semi-Automatic Neck Breaker.

Thank god. I was pretty sick of having to reset the old manual neck breakers.

The concert last night must have got my brain working, cause I had some crazy dreams again. I think I did come up with a script treatment for an episode of Buffy, Vampire Slayer.

My dreams have had a lot of celebrities lately. Prior to this morning I had a dream where I went to an acting class taught by Robert DeNiro. He's one tough monkey in my dream-world. Then there was the one where MTV News sent me and Bridget Fonda to interview the Red Hot Chili Peppers because of rumors they were breaking up. However, Bridget did not want to concern herself with the interview, only with mackin' on me. (I guess the dream with Alyson Hannigan followed a vaguely similar path, except the story ends much sweeter and sadder.)

As mentioned, Nevik gave a couple of lawn seats at Pine Knob for the Rush concert yesterday, and after some waffling I decided to go. I'm glad I did -- we had a great time and the band was spectacular. However, the experience could have been a disaster for the following reasons:

  • First off, the "lawn" doesn't actually have any grass left on it. It's dirt, plain and simple. Also, the "lawn" area on the hill is rather small -- I was expecting something a bit larger than the outfield at a pee-wee baseball field.
  • If the weather hadn't cooperated and it would have poured, sitting in mud would NOT have been fun.
  • People smoking doobs right behind us. Christ.
  • I couldn't keep a Mullet Watch because we were completely overwhelmed
  • You can't see anything on the hill if you are sitting unless everyone sits, which never happens. Thus you get to stand on the side of a hill for the whole show.

There are not a lot of bands that I would endure these possibilities (or realities) for; luckily the band did not fail to deliver. Rock on! (gives Devil Fingers)

We were pretty busy this weekend.

I had the day off Friday, which I used to run a bunch of errands, get my hair cut, etc. By the time Jules got home, we ran to get a quick dinner before doing all our monthly shopping and then coming home to clean up for Saturday.

Saturday we cleaned the house to be acceptable to visiting humans, then we met up with a bunch of pals at the Nasty Buffet for dinner; we came back to the house to have cake, and everyone was incredibly generous with gifts.

Sunday I did some chopping for Julie early, then we drove out to my folks' house for family birthday, where we got even more things. Then, on the way back, we drove through a pouring rainstorm.

The end! Lots of fun all around.

Another year older. Julie made meatloaf last night and gave me bunch of books and other wacky things from Middle Earth; I had a pretty good day overall, at least once I got out of work. Thanks again to everyone for their well-wishes.
