Last post of the year! Happy New Year to y'all.

The Hoildays have been kind to my household. I think I got about a dozen books, many hardcover, and Julie was happy with the Tower o' Presents. All relatives were accounted for giftwise, save my grandmother's gift, which showed up in the mail on the 26th, of course.

We drove out to Novi looking for a couple of stores we don't have out this way, and I finally plunked down the green for a new exercise bike. We were also able to stop in the mall out there that has a Wizards of the Coast store, which puts the Underworld and Rider's game sections to shame. There once was a plan to put one in Briarwood, but I guess that fell through. Novi's the closest at about 25 miles away.

It's a little early to hype this, but I plan to blather on more about games and playing games at Token Pursuits. There may even be content there sometime before 2004.

One more thing: Yao Ming's Online Journal

Alrighty, we're in the last hour of work for this year. Many presents gotten, more to come. (A ton to give to Julie, actually.)

    Happy Holidays!

Just now, Andrew Inman and someone in a bunny suit came into our office. The person in the bunny suit ruffled Pherph's hair and ran away.

I am *not* making this up.

Patrick Stewart not to return as Capt. Picard (3rd item down)

Julie and I saw Nemesis last weekend. It was OK; I'd later learned that it was so uneven because the move originally filmed at *3 hours* long and was edited down to 1 hr 47 minutes. That's a LOT of editing, and it showed. It was good to see that cast together for one last time, but I don't blame Stewart a bit for not wanting to be Captain Picard for the rest of his days.

Not much happening here. Just finishing up last vestiges of Christmas Shopping. Oh, I won a free pizza from a raffle at a party I didn't even attend.

Robots sell cars at dealerships in Japan: Sure, you laugh. This is just the first step towards it being after the Robot Apocalypse.

    Back in the Saddle Again

Back to work! At least this should get me back on a regular sleeping schedule.

Play Brak Headkicker 2: The Final Kick and you *become* Zorak.

Holy Cow, its December already. Wha happa?

Ive been off work for about ten days now with near disastrous results to my ability to go to bed when I want to as well as get up at a decent time. Having no responsibilities is turning me into a vampire. The only reason I decided to go to bed the other night is because I happened to look away from the game of Diablo II I was playing to notice that the sky was getting light outside.

Not that this is necessarily a bad thing. I had worked about 6 solid months in a row without any real time off. However, woe is me that first morning back.

With my time off Ive been playing copious amounts of Diablo and other computer games, reading, watching TV, and just all-around being lazy. I do have to trumpet my turkey preparation skills from this Thanksgiving, as I successfully brined and cooked our bird to the point that even that deep breast meat the white meat that usually becomes as dry as the Sahara was nice and juicy.

Here, try the brining technique for yourself.

This week has been spent doing a little gift recon around town and hoping that my Amazon purchases will actually show up on time (again). Keep the digits of choice crossed.
