"Each year over 2 million seasonal farm workers, in nearly every region of the country, provide the manual labor necessary to grow and harvest the fruits and vegetables we consume." (1) The purpose of this site is to explore the experiences of migrant farm workers in the United States and the various social issues that affect them: labor issues, healthcare, education, as well as their history.
With every visit to the supermarket, we are unknowingly confronted with the realities of the agricultural system in this country. Migrant farm workers are an invisible population in our society; however, without them, we would be faced with high produce costs and our dependence would be realized.
