Ricardo Favela, Centennial, 1975
This poster blends indigenous imagery of the warrior with imagery of the Aztec eagle of the United Farm Workers, and with an image of the torn and bleeding American flag. Five hundred years of genocide began with the Spanish conquistadors in the fifteenth century, and as indicated by the bleeding flag, has continued at the hands of the United States.
