Azure Communications 2004"Hernadez Fine ART" < http://www.hernandezfineart.com/serigraf.htm> 12/18/2004

We found this web site to be very useful for us. It was the only place where we were able to find an explanation of what serigraphy was. The web site provided a very clear explanation of what the technique entailed. It is through his web site that we learned just how intricate a painting Las Comadres really is. We think this web site is very easy to use and would highly recommend it to any one who needed to find out what serigraphy is

Barnet-Sanchez, Holly and Sperling Cockcroft, Eva 1990 Signs from the Heart: California Chicano

Murals Social and Public Art Resource Center

This book was a secondary source for us. It was used to scan the picture of one mural and also to do a little research on that mural. The pictures in the book were absolutely wonderful and we highly recommend using this book if you are doing research on Chicano/na art. It is a very easy ready and has a straight forward manner. The table of contents is easy to use and information is readily accessible in the book.

"Creative Collectives" 2004. <http://library.csus.edu/libemp/blackmerk/creative/index/ester.htm> 12/19/2004

We used this web site to get the picture called "Mis Madres". There was very little information provided on this web site but the quality of the picture was very good. I would only recommend this web site if you know what you are looking for and if you only want a picture.

Correia, Patricia. 2004. "Patricia Correia Gallery" <http://www.correiagallery.com/newartists/valdez/dreamer.html> 12/19/2004

This web site was used to get a copy of the painting "The Dreamer". It provided an absolutely gorgeous rendition of the painting. The detail and color of the picture looked as vibrant and detailed as it would if you were seeing the paining in real life. That we found over the course of this project is a hard thing to find.

"Ester Hernandez". 2001. Hispanic Research Center, Arizona State University.

<http://mati.eas.asu.edu:8421/ChicanArte/unit2/ester/hernandez.html> 12/19/2004

This web site provided us with an excellent photo of "La Pelona". It was very helpful in getting all of the other information we needed as well. The unique aspect of this web site is that it allows you to see the art work from all angels. There are links that allow you to rotate the skull and you are able to see it from the back.

Gotay de Anderson, Zulia.2001. "Zulia Gotay de Anderson Oil Paintings Hispanic/Latino Oil Paintings and Hispanic/Latino Art"

<http://www.zuliagotay.com/> 12/19/2004

This web site was used for a lot.We retrieved two photos from the site as well as the information about the artist. This web site was created by the artist for herself. It is a gallery of all her paintings. It was very hard for us to decide to only use two of her paintings because they are also beautiful. We recommend this site as a place to go when you have a little free time. There is amazing detail in the pictures and everytime you look at them you notice something you didn't notice before.

"The Guild". 2004. Guild LLC. <www.guild.com/servlet/guild/glossaryviewpage>

This web site was used strictly as supplemental source. We used the art glossary provided by the site to look up words that were mentioned in the descriptions of the paintings, when we did not know what the words mean. This web site was extremely helpful because it gave definitions that you could understand assuming you did not know a thing about art. If you know a lot about art then this glossary would probably annoy you.

"Judith Baca". 2004. <http://homepages.gac.edu/~cgamble/> 12/19/2004

We used this web site as a source for a picture of "Uprising of the Mujeres". This web site provided us with a great quality picture that we could ended up using in our site. Along with the picture of the mural we were able to find a lot of useful information about the artist. It is where we got the information for our bio sketch. We think that this web site was so easy to use because it appears to be a site that a student made, probably for an assignment similar to the one we are doing now.

Keller, Erikson M., Johnson K., Alvarado J. 2002. Contemporary Chicana and Chicano Art Artist,

Works, Culture and Education Volume I. Arizona State University: Bilingual Press/Editorial Biligue

This was our primary source. We found several of the pictures we chose to use in our web site here. The book was absolutely amazing. It had everything we were looking for, we were able to find information about the artist, about the painting, how it was created and for some of the paintings it even had a little background information about what motivated the artist to create it. Overall I think the book was simple to read, the pictures scanned very well, and the text was easy to read. Occasionally we needed outside sources to understand what the technique used to create the work of art was and what it entailed. It was a wonderful book to have as a primary source and we are lucky we awe able to find it.

Menard, Valerie.  Culture on Canvas: A Guide to Collecting Latino Art.  Hispanic, Jan/Feb 1997, p. 92.

This article was one of the things that motivated us to choose Latino art as the basis for web project. It was because of this article that we felt compelled to investigate no only the genre of art but the artist as well. The Article was a fascinating read for us. It was full of interesting information that we enjoyed sharing.
